Brief
History
The Korthals Griffon (Wirehaired Pointing Griffon) is a multi-functioned
dog and will work on all terrains and fetch all types of game. It is
a close cousin of the Italian Spinone. Originally raised by a Dutchman
(Eduard Karel Korthals). Clicking on the Breed

Temperament
Generally a short range gun dog, having a natural tendancy for the 'fetch'.
They are also friendly and devoted, willing to please, amiable and often
comical and want to be one of the family. They require strict, but gentle
handling and training. Thay can be good watchdogs. They make excellent
family pets, absolutely devoted, willing to please, are amiable towards
other dogs and pets.
Health
No major concerns
Minor - CHD, otitis externa, entropion and ectropion.
Appearance
Steel grey with chestnut markings.
A double fleece coat - undercoat fine and tight, with a hard hair, very
rough top coat - giving protection from brambles, bushes, water and
hot and cold temperatures. Abundant facial hair help it's comical expression
and personality, eyes yellow to brown. Round, webbed feet. They weigh
about 50 to 60lb and the male grows to about 22-24inches, with the female
about 20-22inches.

Function
This respectable century-old dog with an incomparable charm is among
the best modern Hunt Point Retrieve (HPR) dogs and shows promise as
an important hunting dog of the future in England.
